As part of the annual Jamboree on Pedals event, we are running a bike hike along the rail trail from Casino to Lismore.
10:00 Set off from Old Casino Train Station Carpark (Rail Trail Trackhead) 11:00 Aim to be at Bentley Street Carpark 11:30 Leave Bentley Street Carpark 13:30 Arrive at Lismore Train Station (Rail Trail Trackhead)
The trail is approximately 30km long and will give everyone the chance to showcase their bike riding skills on an extended trip.
We will be riding along the purpose built rail trail, which is a well formed path, mostly consisting of a loose gravel surface. The trail is open to members of the public, so we may encounter other bicycle riders, walkers or horse riders along the way. The trail is mostly flat with some small ups and downs along the way. Some sections are shaded, however there are significant portions of the trail with little to no shade, so please be sun safe (sunscreen, long sleeve shirts etc.)
We will be stopping at the Bentley Road Carpark (1668 Bentley Road, Bentley, NSW, 2480) for a break and a light lunch.
There will be an option for less confident riders to join us at the Bentley Road Carpark, which is a little under half way through the trail (approx 18km from the finish at Lismore). Please let the leaders know if you wish to take up this option.
All participants must bring a helmet, sturdy enclosed shoes and a water bottle. A bike with working brakes and gears is required. If you wish to borrow a bike, please let a leader know prior to the event so we can source you an appropriate bike.
